Tour OutlineThis incredible Oktoberfest tour has been designed to not only introduce you to the world renowned annual Oktoberfest in Munich, but also to show you something of the rest of Munich and Bavaria. Experience the Alps, the beer gardens, beer halls as well as some great architecture, oh and of course some great beer! Over the 4-days, we take you from König Ludwig’s Neuschwanstein in the Bavarian Alps, across the Austrian Alps and finally to Munich’s Oktoberfest, the largest Volks (peoples) festival in the world Our upbeat 4-day 2009 Oktoberfest tours start and end in Munich, and at other times of the year can be tailored depending on where you come from, maybe you would like to go south-east to Salzburg and beyond! The Bayern Special tour runs all year, please email us for details. Latest News Good news for 2009, we will have 2 tour options, Option A is Oktoberfest and Alps Special for those that want to go to the Alps as well (8 places maximum). Or if you want to just stay in Munich, then Option B is Oktoberfest Special with hotel only. On day 3 both tours all go to the Oktoberfest together where we have reserved tables at the Hacker Festzelt! So cheers! In 2009, we will also be using ONLY 3 and 4 star centrally located hotels when we are in Munich. |

Outline Tour Itinerary 2009Download Tour Itinerary Option A... Day 1 After we pick you up from Munich airport (or designated start point), we will then drive straight to Neuschwanstein Castle where we can have a look around, take some photos and have some lunch. Suitably refreshed we then drive into Austria and along Lake Plansee on the 'back road' back into Germany, a beautifully scenic drive with mountains either side of the road! Time permitting, we should also have a chance to visit the monastery at Ettal for a quick beer and look around. Oberammergau is then just a 10 minute drive where we will check into our rustic Gasthof (guesthouse) located in the centre of this beautiful village. We then all meet up (after some free time) for a traditional Bavarian meal washed down with some fresh, cool beer! Should be a good night and time for everyone to get to know each other and talk about how many litres they can drink in Munich! Overnight-Zum Stern, Oberammergau Day 2 Today we hit the road relatively early (don't worry, you can have a nap in the van on the way) for the 1 hour drive to Munich where we will check in and get out and about in Munich. Time permitting, we will have a guided walkabout, we'll show you some of the places you may miss if you were on your own, we also build a thirst for our lunchtime beer! We will then have an early lunch at around midday in the Hofbräuhaus in the centre of Munich, a must-do visit when in Munich, the atmosphere is electric! After lunch you can either stay with us or go and have a look around Munich on your own or even the Oktoberfest grounds, choice is yours. See you tomorrow! Overnight-Hotel Concorde**** or Golden Leaf Hotel Altmünchen***, Munich Day 3 Hopefully you haven't been out too late the night before as today is the big one! We will all go down to the Wies'n together and get to our reserved beer tent at Hacker Festzelt (TBC) for around midday. We normally have reservations at our tables for around 4-5 hours, after that you're free to wander around the tents, have a power nap outside on the grass bank or have a look around Munich again. Maybe you just want to call it a day! You should go to bed with those songs reverberating around your head...'Country Roads.....' See you in the morning! Overnight-Hotel Concorde**** or Golden Leaf Hotel Altmünchen***, Munich Day 4 Unfortunately for you, this is your last day in Munich unless you have decided to stay longer! The tour ends at breakfast over coffee and tales of yesterdays exploits! See you all again next year! Have a good journey home. Prost!
